Summer Card Camp 2 ~ Week 3 Day 4

This was a fun challenge to do something out of our comfort zone. I spent a lot of time on it but I'm happy with the results! There are some beautiful cards in the gallery for this challenge too. I tried the shabby chic look and it as close to it as I can get :) Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear your comments!

Summer Card Camp 2 ~ Week 3 Day 1

I can't believe it's the third week already of Summer Card Camp! I have learned lots of fun techniques from these talented ladies :) I love the color palette this week because my favorite color is purple! For this card, I tried the overlapping stamping technique (on that diagonal strip in the center) that Jennifer McGuire did although mine just looks more like a pattern. It was a fun technique to try! Here is my card:

Summer Card Camp 2 ~ Day 4

Wow, this was quite the challenge for me to use holiday supplies to make a non-holiday card! I did it though, after much thought. I ended up using a Christmas present stamp to stamp the design on the base of the card. I used a white card base and blue ink hoping it would just look like some cool pattern :) I needed a sympathy card so I thought this looked like it could definitely be one.

Here is the stamping that I did on the card base (you can see the Christmas presents):

Here is the finished card:

I liked it better in the beginning when I had only stamped it here and there....but  then I went crazy and kept stamping lol! I'd love to hear any comments you might have about this card or any of my other cards. Thanks for looking!!

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2~ Day 3

Just posting my card for my summer card camp for Wednesday. I got a little behind but I'm almost done with yesterday's card and I'll post it very soon! This will be an anniversary card for my In-laws and I think they'll really like it. My mother-in-law has saved every card I've made for them! :) This was taken from the second sketch for this week. I stamped the butterflies, but I used my new Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color in the butterflies. Then...I added some Stickles to give them a little extra shine. The sentiment was done digitally and printed out on vellum. Thanks for looking and I would love to hear any comments about what you think about the card!

Summer Card Camp 2 ~ Day 2

Well, I finished my card for day 2 last night but I'm uploading it today to the gallery. This was a different one for me because I don't do too many "cute" cards but it was fun! Making the circle card was something different to try. I used the resist technique by heat embossing the fence, the bear and the bee...then used my distress markers (Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass and Crushed Olive) and added a little water for a watercolor effect. I didn't have watercolor paper so it was a little more difficult, but it worked. For the background (brown) paper I used Core'dinations cardstock. I dry embossed it with wood grain texture and then sanded it a little to look like real wood. I used a little doily behind the smallest circle and inked the edges with chalk ink.

My daughter even joined in and made a circle card too. We found out today that my aunt and uncle had to put their dog down this afternoon. So...my daughter decided to make hers a "sorry for your loss" card. They will love it!

Here is mine:

Hope you enjoyed our cards....I know we had fun making them!

A "make-up" card from what I missed last week for Summer Card Camp 2!!

Since I was so busy last week, I wasn't able to make any cards for the class (only the pre-class challenges) so I'm posting my cards I'm making up for from last week! This is a card from Week 1 Day 1 of the Summer Card Camp 2. I had fun with this one! Thanks for looking :)
